Most of the riders who ride know the routes and are welcome to go off the front and have as much fun as they care to.Be prepared to handle your minor mechanical problems, flat tires etc. Lights are recommended but not required. Co-ride leaders:  We are open to having at least a couple of additional ride leaders help. Let me know ASAP if you are interested in leading.
Rain Policy      Bad weather and consistent rain cancels.

Terrain:            Some hills - some flats - some unknowns.
Ride Description:  This is a terrific fall loop course that starts in North Marysville and follows a winding and sometimes hilly course towards Granite Falls, Arlington, Stanwood and then back through the Tulalip Indian Reservation-Quil Ceda Village at a pace in the 15-18 mph range, mostly along low traveled country roads.
Directions to Start:  - If coming from the South, exit East onto ramp and turn right on 88th.  Turn left at the traffic light in about .25 miles. Enter shopping center from the East and park in the southern part of the lot near Starbucks.  About 40 miles from Downtown Seattle to the start. From Bellevue, it's about 35 miles along I 405 to I 5 to the start.
Carpooling encouraged. If you write me at garystrauss@gmail.com, provide your name, basic preferred start location, email, cell and other pertinent phone numbers and whether you are willing to drive or prefer to ride, I will circulate that information to (a) my bike email list and (b) any other rider who emails me and asks to share a rider to drive. You will need to follow up on your own. Iwill not arrange carpools. Riders are expected to share the cost of the ride fairly. That means, be prepared to pay at least a fair share of the total cost of gasoline. Check with your driver before the ride starts about what he/she will charge (for example, miles times a fee per mile or a proportion of gas expense). Please do not short change the driver, as that will discourage carpooling. Some of you think that it is okay to offer a nominal amount such as$5, without first clearing it with the driver. That is a no go.
Be prepared: For weather changes, and check your tires and bike condition before leaving home. Bring at least 2 new tubes, tire levers, a patch kit, and a pump or CO2 cartridges. Bring food as there are long stretches of empty, soul baring foodless roads. Likely to stop for snack in Arlington and Stanwood. Cue sheet provided.
Ride Format: Please do not join us if you are under a lot of time pressure. This is a ride for fun and smiles and not hammering or crawling. If you come, you can elect to go out on your own at the start. Otherwise, the leader expects you to stay more or less with the group for the duration of the ride, including stopping at regrouping points and waiting on top of hills for others. This is not a race or very strenuous paced ride, although the group pace may jump over 18 mph at times. It is not okay to try to split the group unless the ride leader approves before you depart. We usually wait for everyone on the top of big climbs to catch up.If you are unable to reach the ride leader within 10 minutes of regrouping, you may be dropped. The group will not wait for riders who have mechanical problems except sometimes at regrouping points. So, again, don’t show up at the ride with old tires and rusty chains. We do not provide mechanical support. We expect you to know how to change a flat and have the parts and tools to do it.

Pictures of this ride will be posted on the following website: http://picasaweb.google.com/garystrauss/. Feel free to send me any pictures you take that you would like to see on the web at garystrauss@gmail.com or a link to the website you use.
